Worrying over mindless talks

Usually, when there are people talking behind my back, saying bad things about me, I don't give a damn.
There was even once that my brother told his friends about my bad habits in front of me... a bit embarrassing but I didn't feel the need to correct him. I don't give a shit because mostly what they are saying have some kind of truth in it, for the people closer to me. If not, the people not close to me would have been talking in their own judgement/misunderstanding/insensitivity or something close. And I don't really care to clear to up the misunderstandings, they are people who are not part of my life after all. Who cares what you think? Definitely not me..

Thank god for my heck care attitude that I have lived so happily all these time. True that we should be more aware of our surroundings, I'm also not sure why I am this way, but I really like this part of me, especially when I see my friends and colleagues being troubled by the talks of people who mean so little to their lives.

My friend used to ask me why am I so indifferent? Why don't I care about these things? Why am I being so clueless? They can't seems to understand how can I treat the talks like nothing. Probably because they are really nothing? Well... I can't understand why they care so much of these things. I mean I would understand if the one talking about you is your dad or brother or someone you share life with or your boss, but the others... I don't get it.

Though after starting work, I just very recently found out that I would only start to mind when the people close to me are minding the talks on my behalf. (A tiny little bit) Though I thank them for caring, but caring about who and what is said behind your back is too much of a trouble for me. Troublesome, Really! So in other words, I'm really lazy to care. I guess that is part of my "living in my own world" personality. I could use the time to go Pinterest or read manga instead.

Is this what God wants for me? The hell I know! But I'm sure if it isn't, He'll do something about it. So, I think I'm ok.

But I'll really love to care if there are people talking good behind my back, those are affirmations.. Haha..
God bless =]

Fish & Co. at the glass house

To be very honest, I never knew there is such a place even though I used to go dhouby ghaut quite often.
Well, it's pretty cool.

Went there with my LG, after last Saturday service. it's beside ParkMall

Really like their interior.
Very easy going, and describes them well.

I think the glass walls was designed to help in amplifying the live performance.
But it makes the place a bit too noisy other times.

Shared with Mag a huge mug of Jungle freeze.

Of course, at Fish and Co, you eat Fish and Chips.
Though I'm very very very tempted to get their platter for 1...
Italian Fish and Chips

Danish Fish and Chips is what I ordered,

New York Fish and Chips.
They are bit too salty, made us very thirsty before we even finished the food. =[
And it's something you don't want to keep eating. 太腻了。
I should have gotten their platter for 1 instead??
Though I really liked their concept,
there's even a Singapore Fish and Chips where it is topped with Chili crab sauce.

If all fails you, order their clam chowder.
Totally awesome. =]
And they deserve some credit for that.

Sorry for the blur pic. Just want to remind myself how much fun we had.
I guess good company makes everything a whole lot better =]

And that's is the Glass house Fish and Co.
If you are going there...
The price is quite reasonable, about $20 per person should be enough for a regular meal.
Be prepared to drink lots of water, cause the food is really salty.
It's not a place for a heart to heart talk, quite noisy.
It will be more suitable if you are going with a loud bunch.
But be prepared for forgetful staffs, they forgotten quite a few of my friend's order..... >= [
And do not go there to celebrate birthdays.
I regret to say, we did.
My friends brew candles on the wrong cake...Sorry to Mag and Xiao Pei Qi.
And...... We could have planned it better.
Like going to Ma Maison = =

I think I like Fish & Co. Express better =P
Well, a customer has got her choices.

Ma Maison

We were celebrating Xiao Pei Qi's 21st birthday last night.
And we went to this place.

We went to the Bugis branch, which is well hidden in a deep corner.
You'll probably just pass by it if you have never heard of this place.
And I'm shouting to you  "This is a really awesome place!"

Level 2 of Bugis Junction, you can go up from the escalator beside Mos Burger
and turn right when you see NYDC.
It has a red wooden door, and you'll feel the difference once you walk into the shop.
Ma Maison

Love it tons!
PQ tried to make a reservation but they were full  (on a weekday night)
So we went there and waited for our tables.
Around 30 mins or so.
Not bad, since we had occupied ourselves with each other's company and admiring the lovely interior.
=]
The place is small, but with our group size of 6, it's quite alright.

I just have to show you, the table cloth that every one of us adore.

Like places with candles. =]

Our orders came in timely.
Or perhaps we were to happy and excited that time passes quickly without us realising.
But I think it is the former.

This is freaking cool.
You see the tools?
I only had Escargots once before at Saizeriya, so I can't really judge if it is nice or not.
But it would be good to try, won't it?

Japanese Style Spaghetti which my friend ordered.

Prawns and scallop gratin.
The sauce is thick and cheesy.
Nice!

Here is what I got. Omu rice with beef stroganoff.
I loved it! If you are a wine fan, it is a must try!
This sauce is amazing.
Their hamburger steaks are another must tries. =]

We were in love with this shop.
The ambiance is just so comfortable to settle in.

From the ceiling beams to the decor, not forgetting the tables and chairs, all wood.
And the half way brick texture on the walls and vintage decors adds to the homely atmosphere.
The whole place is so rustic and gives a very country feel.
Feels very down to earth.
And I really really liked that a small light from the candle brings so much more warmth to the table.

Their desserts made us anticipate very much too.

Grapes are officially my favorite fruit.

Their blueberry tarts are sugary nice too. (Pun intended)

This wasn't updated in the menu (I think)
Delicious Chocolate mouse.
You can't go wrong with chocolate.

They have a very interestingly cute billing system.
They'll give you the key, when you are to pay the bills, you'll take this to the counter.
Coincidentally, it was a gold key. A symbol of freedom for a 21st birthday. =]

Happy birthday Pei Qi.
The tarts plus the cake is too much, I felt so bloated on my way home.

We bought the strawberry shortcake from four leaves and brought it here before PQ arrives.
Although the store had a 'no outside food' sign, they still allowed us to bring it in.
Thank God for those lovely and friendly staffs.
And when my friend faked going-to-the-toilet-to-bring-in-the-cake surprise,
They initiated to accompany with a song.
My friend came back to the table, and the staffs surprised the birthday girl from behind
and we all sang the birthday song together.
So sweet of them!
Their service standards are so awesome!
Always smiling, and ready to serve.
The staffs are as warmth as the store is. =]
They are hiring.
And I don't mind joining them when my job ends. =]
Though, I know how hard it is to be working in the F&B industry.

Amazing dinner, great experience and wonderful company.
Shall go there again, and spread this place around with love.

Thank God for the place, the food, and the people.
God Bless!!

Pinterest

Recently, I have been addicted to Pinterest.
It's really cool what kind of weird things you learn and see there.
=]
Lots of beautiful places of Mother Nature,
Many smart DIY projects,
Yummy looking recipes,
Inspirations for the mind and body.
=]

So I have been skipping on blogging to pin instead.
There are just so many things to see there.
Learning new things everyday.
Just hope I can remember all of them
=\

And I just saw this, which brought tears to my eyes.
60 Tiny love stories.
Real touching.
Don't mind the length, just shut up and read.

God Bless~

Looks interesting. =\
Always wanted to learn...
I should join?

Sorry for stereotyping, but it looks like it is for the elderly people...
I wonder if they have age limit =/

Random things that I wanted to share but didn't have the chance to.

Salmon Sashimi from Sushi Tei, during a dinner celebration for my friend's birthday.

This is a message from my brother's girlfriend and his reply.
He stick it on his desktop...
A mushy side of a brother that I never knew. (That I don't ever want to know)

My lovely cousin sent this to me to cheer me up.
I believe there are from MBS, Gardens by the bay.
Though you can probably find them around Singapore everywhere.
Pretty daisy. So sweet of her.

I came across this when I was looking through a make-up app when I was bored.
Don't remember which one it is from, but I think this model is beautiful.
Her eyes looks so clear and they matches her dress.
Clean and natural make up that emphasized on popping the blue of her eyes.
The hair is also very gracefully swiped to one side making the whole look very clean,
though the messy fishtail braids adds a little detail and more character.
Pretty =]

This should be part of my house one day.

La Mian and Xiao Long Bao from a hawker store opposite TP.
It is so nice and affordable, it is ridiculous.
After seeing this pic I took a long time ago, I brought my family there to try it yesterday.

=]
Graduated last year with these friends.
God bless that all of you are doing well.

God bless.

Sunday 13 January 2013

Full schedule on Sunday

Zy shared a very interesting event with the group of us.
Cartoon Fantasies with Sparkswinds
We were so looking forward to it.
They'll be playing music from Tangled, Beauty and the Beast,
And my favorite, Howl's Moving Castle.
Yup! Definitely looking forward to it. =]
Many other people were looking forward to it too.
When we reached there, there were just too much people,
and the concert hall wasn't able to fit us all.
They announced that they are sorry, and that the concert hall is already full,
we looked back and the audience who were still waiting in hope to get a seat,
would be able to fill up another round of concert if they had one more.
Like the many people we saw, we were so closed in getting in.
Imagine how we had felt when they brought up the 'no more seats' sign right in our face.
Why didn't they have a second round? =/
I wished they did.

Being dismissed is not very fun.
My friends and I (who had dressed very nicely for the occasion) planned what we should do next.
We walked towards MBS, and it started raining out of nowhere so we hid under the bridge for shelter.
Although we were half soaked (even with umbrellas) and it was freaking cold,
it wasn't so bad to be trapped in the rain with some great friends. =]

We visited the ArtScience Museum and decided to see their exhibitions.
It was a very surprisingly fun experience.

I'm not a history museum person, more inclined to art.
But I've got a friend who is extremely into this stuff, so we went to the Fujians: The blue ocean legacy.

Another reason why I didn't mind to go there is because they have a clay creation workshop,
which is a complimentary to the Fujians.
Always wanted to try.... =]

Messy table by the end.

My small cup.
Didn't have enough clay, so wasn't able to build it to the height I want.
It was very fun, shall try this at home again sometime.
And I saw a salt/baking soda dough recipe which looks simple enough ^^
Stupid me, left this behind after dinner T-T
I'm pretty sure it ended up in a dustbin. =[
It's okay, will make a version 2.
Not the first time leaving behind stuff, I lost my lunch box just a week ago.
Should really cultivate the habit of checking.

After that, we went to a photography exhibition.

Seriously, it looks quite creepy.

What brought us the most joy and fun is their Lego exhibition.
The Art of Brick, by Nathan Sawaya.
Awesomeness!
Hands

Swimmer

Yellow.

Was challenged to piece out a rain drop, so here is mine.

This 'Peaces' was created by donated Lego, probably from all over the world.

Cool guy, I forgot your name.

This is one of my favourite piece, the artist view.
From the painting to the stand and the Platte, the paint bottle, cabinet, and the small checked tiles.
All of it is Lego.
Amazed.

I liked that such a wide space is dedicated on a single show piece.
It had emphasized on the dramatic effect of the dinosaur.
And the lights adds a wonder mood to the whole set.

The Singapore Arts and Science Museum, Legofited.

This reflexology is is such a good idea. =]
If my kids next time have a bunch of leftover legos, shall do this. =]

Leaving a message for the exhibition. =]

One thing I love about this exhibition,
other than the pure awesomeness, clever use of medium,
and the talent to see the potential of a common thing,
is that this exhibit is so filled with positiveness.

I draw (used to), and I used to think how much easier it is to express sadness and gloom
compared to the positive energy.
In fact I have a sketchbook entirely of emo stuff.
Yet, for Mr Nathan, every single piece, he did it with good intentions.
Like the Dinosaur, not his exact words but he said when he had his first exhibition,
he saw that there were many children who came to visit.
And he wanted to do something for them, so he made a dinosaur.

There is another piece, which I don't know why I didn't take a picture of,
a green man with his worries and on his back, there was a door attached to it.
The description says something like "Give me a minute, I'll collect myself and be right back."
Oh man! His inspirations simply blew me away.

Cheering, encouraging, loving.
A real inspiration.

=]
Each artwork is accompanied by what Nathan Sawaya wrote about it.
His thoughts, how he felt, what motivated and inspired him.
He is showing his impressive lego sculptures, at the same time, he is sharing a lot about himself.
Very glad to have seen it with my own eyes.
So thank God that we weren't able to go for the concert.

And of course, an advantageous day should be closed with a great dinner.
We went to MBS for dinner.
Kraze Burger is right next the the food court.

It sells American Burgers, though I dunno why there are korean hangul in the menu.

The Idaho(?) fries and the dipping sauce. Still had no idea what it is, but it taste awesome.

My friend ordered the popular Semi-nude.
The burger without the buns.

This is what I ordered.
Biting into the burger, the first thing that hit me was their special sauce.
It is what I call Umami, together with the bacon.
Oh so nice! Heavenly =]

The sides is sweet corn macaroni, which is my first time trying.
It is weird to eat macaroni sweet, but it isn't a bad kind of weird.
Interesting =]

That's me. In the Lego exhibition.
I wanted to get a white background, but after spending so much time here,
I think I liked this the most.
Haha..

God bless!
It has been raining a lot these days,
Take care of yourselves and don't fall sick.
=]
