Evening picnic.

Has been quite a while since my last picnic.
So I was kind of excited for it.
=]

Because we are no longer as free as we used to be (as student)
We decided to meet in the evening.
So that those after work can join us,
so that we have more time to prepare the food.

I made pork meatballs and apple coleslaw.
Yummm...

My friends also brought along, cupcakes, old chang kee, kong ba pau, drinks and desserts.
=]

It was a surprising experience.

We went to Gardens by the bay. (First time there)
It is very beautiful.
Too bad we didn't have time to walk around more,
It is also a great dating spot in my opinion.

Advantages of having picnics at night.
1. It's cool. Literally cool.
In a country like Singapore, it's too hot here!
You can step outside, walk for 5 mins and you'll be sweating like a pig.
Having picnis at night, you can waved goodbye to the sunset (for hopeless romantics)
and feel the cool air, you can chill out.
No fans needed, no shelters needed.
Hope that it don't rain and have a happy dinner.

2. You get all the space to yourself.
We went to Gardens by the Bay on a public holiday and on Friday.
There is a lot of people!!
Human traffic is slow.
But since we went around evening time,
Just when the sun dyed the sky orange, 6.30 PM or so.
The crowd was either heading to dinner or heading home.
We got to chose a good spot on top of a slope, all to ourselves.
No competition for our territory, somewhere in the meadows.
With a good view for background, and it was breezy on the slope.

3. It wasn't as dark as it sounds.
Our picnic site is near a giant balloon of light.
So it is not as bad as it seems.

4. It's really a good chill out activity.
There is the light and music show on the " topless trees". (I dunno what are they called)
We also recognized that we no longer have the crazy amount of energy we used to have.
We do not have fun by running wild under the hot sun and smelling each other's sweat anymore.
This group of friends really like to chill out, so it's a good activity to have every once in a while.

5. Uninvited guest
Not much mosquitoes.
I don't know if is just me, but I really don't see much mosquitoes there.
If it bothers you a lot, then don't find a place near the lake or any possible breeding spot.
Though, once in a while there'll be bugs visiting us, just let them know that they are not welcomed and send them off.
We stayed there for around 3 hours. (I think)
We finally packed our bags as we noticed the ants headquarters are informed about our food source.
But we had plenty of time to eat, bond and chill.

Well, there are some not so good points too to take note.
1. Make sure to get a big enough picnic mat.
The grass is kind of pointy. Like harmless spikes.
Always good to protect you butt, or in case any insects crawls into you shorts.

2. Though it wasn't exactly dark, it wasn't exactly bright either.
We still need someone the hold on to the torchlight once in a while to make sure to no ants are climbing into our food.

After the picnic, since we were so near the MBS, we thought we could take a walk there.
And we watched the water show, Wonderfull.
It is brilliant! Very smart.
Glad to have seen the show.

And the great dating spot that we went to is at the top of the escalator from the garden to the IR.
There is a pretty overview of the garden and it is crazily windy there.
(Don't wear a fluttery skirt up, you'll have a hard time being comfortable)
And the night sky and lights from IR at the back.
Simply romantic.

It made me remember what my aunt used to tell me.
That when she and her boyfriend went to dates, they'll go to east coast parks and sit on the waves breaker.
Where cockroaches might appear every so often.
To me, it sounds like a horror date.

Thank God, now I know where to go if I ever need a dating spot.
^^

I missed holidays.
Long holiday breaks from school.
=[

God bless you.
And if you are on holiday now, have fun! God bless you too.

Being sister (and daughter)

2 days ago, night.
My sis asked me to help her print some papers for school. Her As are coming soon, so she probably needs as much practice as soon as possible.
I told her I'll try.

Yesterday, at work.
It is probably not good to print it at work since it will be using of company's supply for personal use.
And my big boss is around.
=[
I'm not one to attempt something against the rules, furthermore, my company is quite strict because of our situations recently.

Yesterday, night.
I went home telling my sister that I didn't print her physics paper for her.
but she seems to really need it.
So I told her I'll try again the next day.

Today, at work.
My big boss went back to Japan for a business trip, coming back 2 weeks later.
Our HR and admin manager went to MOM in the morning.
Coast clear.
And I finished my work early.
It is probably the best time for me to print my sister's physics paper now.
And that was what I did.
Secretly proud of myself, there were a lot of pages too.
I'll probably gonna get a really bad impression if I got caught.
So I was really careful.
I kept them under my file carefully to avoid suspicion from unexpected visitors to my table.

Today, after work.
There is unit lifegroup, so I met up with my unit. Halfway through, I remember that I printed my sister's stuff.
And I remembered that I didn't put it in my bag.
I left it under my file.

Today is Friday, and my company don't work on weekends.
So the earliest I could give it to my sis is next Monday.
I whatsapp my sis that I forgot to bring it out with me.

I know that the f-word is not directed at me.
Although I know that she is not dissing me, I felt down nonetheless.
Down is an understatement.
In fact, I thought that I deserved to be shot in the head.
More like my sadistic nature kicked in and I thought that I should be shot in my tights, and after 30 mins when it becomes numb, get shot in the stomach. And 30 mins later, if I'm alive, I should be saved so that I have a gleams of hope, and then get shot in the head.

Really what's wrong with my brain?
I knew I can't remember things well, but......
How dumb can I be?

I shouldn't be this down, and I shouldn't be this sucidal.
Just after my lifegroup with prayers and worship.
Even just after being so close to God, evil thoughts started to creep into me making me down and unworthy.

I rebuke it, to get out of me.
I am my God's temple.
So it is not welcomed here.
But it doesn't make me feel less guilty for not being a better sister.
It doesn't make me feel less ashamed of myself that I am so forgetful.
What should I do?

...

This made me realised that I haven't been a good sister to my siblings or a good daughter to my parents.
Before, my sis ask me to help her with her make up since she will be performing as part of her school choir.
She was really excited then too.
But I was always so busy with myself, I didn't have time for her.
Or others in my family.

Coincidentally, my shepherd and I just embarked on a 9 week series of Galatians 5:22-23.
Each week, we will focus on one of the characteristics of the fruit of the spirit.
This week is love.

So I am thinking of some things I can do for the family to show my love.
- clean up the room, with the pile of clothes on the floor. (I share room with my sis)
- sweep and mop the floor so that my mum can have more time to herself. (I'll do that tomorrow morning)
- wash the clothes and hang it up. (it's my dad's duty, but he sprained his leg sometime ago, so he can get some rest too)
- cook maggie, add eggs and veggies, and whatever hotdogs or meatballs we have in the fridge for anyone who is hungry. (although I said anyone, it is mainly directed at my brother.)

What else can I do?
God place me in this house, in this family not coincidentally.
There must be some thing else that I can do...

What do you normally do for your family?

God bless you.
God bless my family.

P.s. I'm feeling better already.
Thank god. =]

Life: I am doing it well. =] (I think)

So... What have I been up to?

I have been busy.
But peak period of my work is over.
And now I'm too idled.

T-T

It's not good to have nothing to do at work,
though we are free to do our own things (and still get paid),
but I don't think it is nice.

I mean, I caught by boss dozing off a couple of times.
!!!

We really don't have anything to do.
Maybe it's time to restructure the organisation?
Retrenchment? But no! When we are busy, We are really busy.
=/

I should just shut up and enjoy my free time.

Currently, I am enjoying eating ice cream.
I am not a big fan of ice-cream.
But I have tried a few of their flavours and they are amazing!!

My day closes off with awesome ice-cream, Simply Shiok!

I have also painted my wall.
Right beside my bed.

Galatians 5:22-23
So proud of myself. =]

It encourages me a lot, especially when I can't get up in the morning.
When I see SELF-CONTROL, I'll tell myself that it is time to be disciplined.
Amen!

I have quite a lot of leftover paints, What should I do??

Been living quite healthy too.
Eating lots of veggies, drinking lots of water, and going to the toilet many times.
Plenty of walking too.
I'm quite surprised to discover my muscles in the shower last night. o0
But is walking considered exercising too???

Apparently, it is.
Not only is it calming (Lesser risk of injuries and gives you a good deal of time to do your thinking and sorting things out),
it does cost you much (All you need is a pair of good and comfortable shoes),
in the long run, it does not damage your joints as much as other more intensive exercise.

Very good, in my opinion.
Should definitely walk more.
Yay for healthy lifestyle!

God bless you with good health!
