So he sent all of us to a one day Malaysia tour last Friday as our annual company event.
Well, I like travelling too =]
And everyone didn't have to work on that day even though it's a normal Friday.
Smiles everywhere.
Even the most grumpy person looks a lot younger.
It has been a while since I have woken up so early.
I forgotten how cold it can be in the morning, Thank God I brought a comfortable jacket.
A light-hearted trip with my company, where we won't be talking about work.
That's my friend, Jocelyn and I. So early in the morning, still looking half asleep.
We were so excited the day before, we went and bought matching passport covers.
Crossing the broader in day break. There are so many people going to Singapore.
Passed the customs. One more chop in my passport ^^
I like looking at the chops I got.
And my first time seeing Singapore from the other side. It is such a beautiful view.
Great weather considering that it is the monsoon season.
Photo taken by Jocelyn.
First off, we went for breakfast. In a rush.
The dry fishball mee pok is nice, but too bad we didn't have more time to enjoy it.
The mee pok there is a little thinner than the ones we have in Singapore.
Much softer and the texture is good too.
Then we went to a chocolate specialty store.
Cocoa fruit.
There was this Tamil guy who spoke in very fluent Chinese.
The moment he opened his mouth, our China coworkers are all very amazed.
Some even went to take pictures with him afterwards. Haha...
A diversity in culture too. =]
They were selling some tomato chocolate... sounds too unique for me, so I didn't get any.
We went to have seafood lunch after that. This store seems quite popular, visited by many celebrities.
Though, I'm not sure what's so special. I was too hungry then to taste if the food is good or not.
And everyone was too busy eating, I didn't have time to take any pics.
But there is this biscuit store directly opposite our lunch place.
They make fresh snacks probably everyday and they are simply awesome!
I regretted not buying more.
Not sure what those are called, but the stuffing is char siew.
A biscuit that's full of flavour.
Should totally buy a bunch of these if I see them again.
Bought some souvenirs. I really should have bought more... =\
We were supposed to go to the herb garden, but there wasn't enough time.
=[ sad* I was looking forward to go there...
Next stop was Desaru Beach.
Wide sky, wide sea, wide shore.
I don't think I have ever seen such a wide shore before.
Singaporeans would know how our shore looks like, makes me just want to stare at this piece of nature.
Thank God for the wonderful weather. =]
The tour guide lady said that it is quite rare to have such good weather at this time of the year.
Was really glad to come here, but I'll love it if we had more time to stare and stone here.
Well, it was a one day trip and every minute is scheduled.
Can you see the peace in mother nature?? Something you'll never see in Singapore.
That is me, spamming photos in my phone.
Too bad we weren't allowed to go into the waters. Only see see look look.
We went to some fruit farm, but I didn't really see the fruits. o0
Instead we were listening to a lady promoting their bee's product.
Bought some myself because they sound amazing. Still trying them out.
After that, we went shopping.
And I can't resist not getting this.
I was in a dilemma if I such buy this collection or the 25th Anniversary concert by Joe Hisaishi.
I'm his fan, so it was a tough decision.
Until I saw track 24 0.0
So happy to get this, I going to a Studio Ghibli marathon.
Some more shopping...
I swear they are everywhere...
It's like a One Piece fan base.
I'm in happy la la land here. =]
Bought a really cute iphone cover and dust cap. =]
Extremely satisfied with the shopping, though I wasn't expecting myself to get anything at first.
And we are off to our last station, the 5 star hotel buffet dinner.
Everyone was looking forward to it.
Who won't like a free all-you-can-eat dinner?
It is like the highlight of the entire trip!
Appetizer and salad. I wasn't sure what I was eating, but they made them so pretty.
I can't not eat it.
Mains. I know I'm lacking greens here, but it should be okay once in a while right?
From the left beef rendang, roasted lamb leg with black pepper sauce, sambal sotong, grilled fish with cream sauce, beef curry. Amazing with the white rice.
They also have Peking roasted duck roll (Right in front), the noodles are awesome, broccoli and mushroom, and at the back is baked potato skin.
Watercress and chicken soup, spinach soup. These are delicious, it smells amazing too. =]
It a kind of Japanese pizza. I was wondering why do they have it there...
but they are interesting to try as well.
All sorts of cakes that I didn't try.
Looks so cute but I didn't want to waste my stomach space for cakes that I can eat anytime I want to.
So I got myself some bread pudding with vanilla sauce, jelly and assorted fruits.
Isn't it cute?
They have the crushed ice section too.
Can't stop myself from trying it out, but as expected, I wasn't able to finish it in the end. =[
Though, most of us agreed that the standards were not as good as it was projected to be.
I'm happy that I got to eat all sorts of different food. And that I got to eat a lot of food.
I confess that throughout the entire journey on the bus, I was napping.
A few times I knock my headphones to the window cause I was dozing off,
which made my friend and I jumped a little.
The travelling part, I don't remember much. (Since I was sleeping)
But I do remember the clear blue sky, and the oil palm trees everywhere.
While on the highway to Desaru, I saw the sky and palm tree forest stretching out as far as the horizon.
Big fluffy cotton clouds against the soul sucking blue sky, with the deep flavorful green forest.
What a sight.
=]
Malaysia is a beautiful place. Their nature, culture and food.
They have a huge piece of land, a car for travelling is necessary.
I guess I should really go learn how to drive, if I want independent travelling in the future.
Most countries that I want to go are way bigger than Singapore, the little red dot.
God bless everyone and all who are crossing boarders!
